The Shippon
Landscove
2021
Once the cattle shed or ‘Shippon’ to Woolston Green Farmhouse, this building was fully renovated as creatively as possible. Air dried, silvered and water stained sawn oak cladding was painstakingly scribed and fitted internally around the original roof structure and trusses to blend in as seamlessly as possible. Various new openings in the original stone walls have achieved a greater sense of light within and have provided access to a new patio outside. The patio itself being constructed partly from reclaimed medieval cobbles and also salvaged sandstone slabs from a church renovation. Niches, scorched timber sliding doors, hand built concrete kitchen, custom built shower and a polished concrete floor have all contributed to the overall feel of The Shippon.
