Woolston Green Farmhouse
Landscove
2020
The original farmhouse dated back to Medieval times, hewn oak screens, cob walls, a stone spiral staircase, a touchstone and a garderobe were all features within. We were briefed to carry out a full internal and part external renovation to compliment both the original features and yet to also introduce some modern elements. Internal stone walls were lime plastered where possible, followed by clay paints to maintain breathability. A glazed, oak framed Pentice was added to provide a light and airy connecting corridor to an outbuilding that was converted into a spacious bathroom. Conservation rooflights to upstairs bedrooms and the stairs added to the extra light being brought into the old farmhouse. Granite paving slabs added the final touch to create a spacious terrace outside and paths alongside the building.
